Step 7: Do Plenty of Research on Your Competitors
Do research on your competition.
You need to have a thorough analysis of your competition. Often when I do my client interviews I ask them what experts they follow. I also ask them what types of things they google and what types of sites they use when trying to build their business and figure out solutions. I also do my own keyword research to see who is trending. Pay attention on how they market to their clients. Do they have the same target audience? You can also find out what types of keywords they are using in their website at http://www.spyfu.com. This gives me more than enough information to do some digging. I look to see what my competitors have that I don’t.
You can also see what types of Facebook Groups and Linkedin groups your competitors are involved in. Be sure to join these groups and see what topics are being discussed. You can search on http://www.Clickbank.com and http://www.Amazon.com to see if your topic is being sold in book or course format. Be sure to spend plenty of time keeping up with your research on your competitors. It will keep you current and up to date on how your market is changing and what your potential clients are looking for.
